Michael Jerger became the IMLS Chief Operating Officer in January 2013. He has been with IMLS since 2007, previously serving as the Institute’s Chief Financial Officer and Deputy Chief Financial Officer. As COO, he is responsible for the direction and coordination of all agency-wide operational management programs and is directly responsible for the planning, direction, and accomplishment of all management functions of the Institute. He provides direct oversight for the Offices of the Chief Financial Officer, the Chief Information Officer, Human Resources, and Operations.
Prior to joining IMLS, Mike was a Senior Business Global Services consultant at IBM Corporation and a Senior Financial Auditor at Urbach, Kahn & Werlin, LLP. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Maryland, College Park. He currently serves on the government CFO Small-Agency Council, the Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act (FFATA) working group, the Council on Financial Assistance Reform (COFAR), and is a member of the Association of Government Accountants.
