Conservation Project Support
Instructions for submitting grant applications via e-mail, October 5-12, 2007

Organizations that are applying under the extended deadline for the Conservation Project Support program must submit their applications via e-mail by 11:59 P.M. eastern time on Friday, October 12, 2007.

Please follow the Conservation Project Support guidelines (PDF, 425KB) for instructions on the substance of the application.

Pages 21-23 in the Guidelines provide guidance on submitting applications through Grants.gov. DO NOT follow these instructions. Prepare your application according to the instructions starting on page 24.

Step One:
Assemble the documents in the table below, per the instructions on pages 24-39 of the Guidelines. Please note that not all applicants will submit every document. Consult the Guidelines for more details.

For convenience, Microsoft Word versions of the forms are provided below. PLEASE NOTE, however, that you must submit your application as a series of PDF attachments. For assistance in converting your documents to PDF, go to www.imls.gov/pdf/PDFConversion.pdf.

Step Two:
Submit the application, which will be several PDF documents, via email. Please note the following:

  • Address the email to Conservation08@imls.gov
  • Depending on the size of your documents and your email service provider, you may need to submit more than one email.
  • In the subject area of the email, put "Your Institution's Name# of # emails." For instance, the Smith Museum needs to use 3 emails to submit all their documents; their subject areas will read: Smith Museum 1 of 3, Smith Museum 2 of 3, and Smith Museum 3 of 3.
