Washington, DC—The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) announced today three awards totaling $552,000 for Native Hawaiian Library Services.

"These three grants will enhance library and information services in Hawaii in several ways," said Susan Hildreth, IMLS Director. "The funds we’re awarding will support new programs addressing college readiness, career development, and cultural understanding and preservation. Funding will also support existing library programs that Native Hawaiians have come to rely on, including homework assistance, tutoring, genealogy workshops, literacy classes, and summer reading."
