Moanalua Gardens

Moanalua Garden Foundation will develop a new website and digital library to house oral histories focused on the mo'olelo (stories) of Kamananui (Moanalua) Valley. Once the seat of sacred learning, O'ahu, Kamananui's unique heritage dates back to pre-Western contact. The project will film lineal descendants, kupuna (elders), and cultural practitioners connected to the ahupua'a (mountain to sea land district). The project will allow the Moanalua Gardens Foundation to share the new digital collection, media, and archival materials with community partners, Native Hawaiian and indigenous communities, and lifelong learners around the world.
