MEDIA ADVISORY: Event to Recognize Museum Recipients of Nearly $30 Million in IMLS Grants

Workshop and ceremony highlights federal funding for hundreds of museum projects

This year, the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) has made 244 awards to hundreds of museums across the nation totaling nearly $30 million. IMLS will host a congressional workshop and ceremony to recognize 2013 IMLS museum grantees. Representative Paul Tonko and invited members of Congress will join IMLS Director Susan Hildreth to highlight successful applicants and the IMLS-funded projects that are benefitting their communities.

Members of the press are invited for a one-hour presentation showcasing funded projects and for a reception afterwards.
