Institute of Museum and Library Services Sponsors
the Pavilion of the States at the 6th Annual National
Book Festival
Washington, DC--The Institute
of Museum and Library Services, for the fifth consecutive
year, will host the Pavilion of the States at the annual
National Book Festival on the National Mall, Saturday,
September 30th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Representatives
from state libraries and Centers for the Book throughout
the country will gather in the nation’s capital
to promote reading and the literary traditions of the
50 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. territories.
The National Book Festival is sponsored by the Library
of Congress and hosted by First Lady Laura Bush. The festival
is free and open to the public.
The Pavilion of the States also features
authors who sign, read excerpts from, and discuss their
latest work with visitors at their home state table. This
year’s schedule of authors who will visit the Pavilion
of the States is:

to be one of the most popular venues at the National Book
Festival,” said Dr. Anne-Imelda M. Radice, Director
of the Institute of Museum and Services. “We are

the nation’s museums and libraries. Visit us in
