Wayne C. Morlier Named Senior Financial Officer
for the
Institute of Museum and Library Services
Washington, DC--Dr.
Anne-Imelda M. Radice, Director of the Institute of Museum
and Library Services (IMLS), is pleased to announce the
appointment of Wayne C. Morlier as the agency’s
first Senior Financial Officer (CFO). Wayne Morlier joined
IMLS on August 21, 2006. He is responsible for both the
budget and finance functions, including preparation of
the agency’s financial statements and annual Performance
and Accountability Report.
“We are very fortunate to have as
our Senior Financial Officer a person with superb qualifications
and vast experience working with federal agencies,”
said Director Radice. “Mr. Morlier is a valuable
addition to, and a great asset for the Institute.”
Prior to joining IMLS, Wayne Morlier worked
for two years as a financial consultant providing expert
financial management advice and guidance to federal agencies.
He has 24 years of federal service, including 17 years
as a financial manager. His experience includes appointments
with the Internal Revenue Service, the USDA Office of
the Chief Financial Officer and the U.S. Forest Service.
He was a key contributor at the USDA and the U.S. Forest
Service in achieving unqualified audit opinions for fiscal
years 2002 through 2005.
He has comprehensive federal government
knowledge and experience in auditing, financial analysis,
reconciliation of financial data, and preparation of financial
statements and reports. He is an expert in problem solving
and recommending system and operational policies and procedures.
Wayne C. Morlier has a Bachelor of Science
in Accounting from the University of New Orleans. He is
a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Government
Financial Manager.
