IMLS Hires New Public Affairs Officer

Washington, DC--Jeannine
Mjoseth has been hired as the new public affairs officer
of the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the premier
federal agency supporting museum and library programs
and research.
“We’re extremely pleased to
welcome Jeannine Mjoseth to the Institute,” said
Anne-Imelda Radice, Ph.D., director of the Institute.
“Ms. Mjoseth’s work with older people, who
have played and will continue to play key roles in our
nation’s museums and libraries, will be especially
valuable at the IMLS.”
Ms. Mjoseth has worked with numerous publications
and brings almost
20 year of journalism experience to her position. Prior
to joining the Institute, Mjoseth worked for seven years
in the communications office of the National Institute
on Aging (NIA), National Institutes of Health. While at
the NIA, Mjoseth directed the highly successful Vital
Visionaries, a museum-based project aimed at improving
medical students’ attitudes towards older people.
She conducted media-related projects on a wide range of
health care issues as well as media training for mid-career
scientists.
