Public Invited to the
Institute of Museum and Library Services Leadership Lecture
and the National Museum and Library Services Board Meeting,
Oct. 22-23
October 22, 2007, 7 p.m.
IMLS will present the first
annual IMLS Leadership Lecture, “Power, leadership,
strategic communications, and the future of libraries
and museums,” by Robert L. Dilenschneider, megatrends
thinker and internationally recognized public relations
expert.
The lecture will be held at the William
G. McGowan Theater, National Archives Building in Washington,
DC. Please use the special events entrance located on
Constitution Avenue at 7th Street NW. The lecture is free

The 12th meeting of the National Museum and Library Services
Board will be held in the IMLS Board Room, located at
1800 M Street NW, 9th floor, Washington, D.C.
The board meeting will focus on international
issues, with a key note address by Adair Margo, Chairman,
President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities.
Alina Romanowski, Deputy Assistant Secretary, Bureau of
Educational and Cultural Affairs, Department of State
will also be making remarks. Click

In June, the Board passed a resolution that
recognized the need for a strong federal voice to address
library and information policy issues, and to inform the
government’s domestic and international policy decisions.
