Washington, DC—The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) announced today 14 awards totaling $1,442,312, matched with $1,903,034 of non-federal funds for Museum Grants for African American History and Culture. IMLS received 41 applications requesting $4,277,160 in funds.

"Museum Grants for African American History and Culture help build the capacity of this important sector of heritage institutions in the United States," said Susan Hildreth, IMLS Director. "We are proud to support these organizations, their exhibits, and their programs."
