Alu Like, Inc.’s Native Hawaiian Library (NHL) will enhance the NHL digital libraries with more resources to meet the needs and interests of Native Hawaiians; continue to provide library and literacy services in eight Hawaiian communities; provide tutoring services in three Native Hawaiian communities to increase and strengthen literacy skills; increase parent/child interactions focused on language and literacy development with continued Motheread® workshops; and provide educational activities for the greater community that will promote literacy and community involvement, support public education, raise public awareness of the importance of libraries, and increase the number of Native Hawaiians in library information science.
