Deputy Director, Office of Digital Information Strategy
Ben Sweezy is Deputy Director, Office of Digital Information Strategy (ODIS). For seven years he worked with the Office of Management and Budget on data analytics, project evaluation and IT management policy. At OMB, Ben worked on ITDashboard.gov, Data.gov, USASpending.gov, DataPoint, UnlockTalent.gov, and the Integrated Data Collection. His policy focus was on data strategy and digital strategy in the federal environment, including how agencies make innovative use of data, learn from visitors and customers and build digital platforms that can be used for creative, unanticipated uses. He’s particularly excited about infographics and visualization, data journalism, and creative ways of thinking about government. In 2016, Ben was awarded the Federal 100 recognizing his leadership of the government wide implementation of the Federal IT Acquisition Reform Act of 2015 (FITARA).
