IMLS and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will host a webinar for public librarians about the USCIS Citizenship and Integration Grant Program on January 19, 2016. USCIS representatives will provide an overview of the grant program, describe services supported by the grants, and discuss basic grant application requirements. Past recipients of these grants include public libraries, public school systems, community colleges, and literacy organizations, among others.

The January 19 webinar also will feature two library grant recipients. Homa Naficy, Chief Adult Learning Officer of the Hartford Public Library in Connecticut, and Petula McShiras, Supervisor of the Immigrant Resources Center at Bemis Library in Littleton, Colorado, will discuss their citizenship preparation services and share tips for libraries interested in starting their own programs.
