Colonel IL James N. Pritzker Library of the Citizen Soldier (Pritzker Military Library)

Log Number: AL-00-09-0004-09

The Pritzker Military Library’s (PML) mission is to share the stories of sacrifice, courage, and triumph of America’s citizen soldiers with its visitors, both in person and online. As the only U.S. military history library that is free, open to the public, and not located on a military base, the PML relates these stories through an extensive collection of books, photographs, posters, and artifacts, as well as through free monthly programming series that are held at the library and recorded for webcasts, podcasts, and even broadcasts on local PBS stations. In six short years, the Pritzker Military Library has become a unique and unparalleled resource for studying the contributions of the citizen soldier throughout America’s military history.
