Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum

The museum's Art Beyond Sight program, which began in 2006, was driven by the desire to engage individuals with visual impairments so they, too, could enjoy art. With guidance from New York-based Art Beyond Sight, programming developed offers tactile sculptures, robust verbal descriptions, multisensory elements, and hands-on artmaking. This successful program challenges the notion that art has to be seen to be enjoyed.
