Museum of New Mexico Foundation (Museum of Indian Arts and Culture)

Log Number: ARPML-250485-OMLS-22

The Museum of Indian Arts and Culture in Santa Fe, New Mexico, will reestablish its on-site school tour program and continue its online educational activities, all of which serve elementary and middle school students from across New Mexico’s 89 school districts. The museum also will contract with an education coordinator and an education assistant to develop the program We Are Here, Now and Always. The COVID-19 pandemic forced the museum to dramatically reduce its staff, including its educational curators. The pandemic also created the need to provide online educational activities and resources for students. This need is especially critical for students in remote areas and Tribal reservations. As the museum reopens its doors, it will resume on-site educational programs and continue to develop and offer online programming to supplement the state social studies curriculum.
