Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture

Log Number: ARPML-250649-OMLS-22

The Burke will expand its interpretive staff program to enable visitors to easily understand what they are seeing at the museum and have their questions answered in a timely and engaging manner. Interpretation floor staff stationed near high-visibility locations in the museum will engage patrons by explaining what is happening in those spaces and answering questions about the work on view. The museum also will expand its artist studio, which provides opportunities for Indigenous artists to share their work, artistic practices, and cultural traditions with a broader community. The project will revive the museum’s new approach to community engagement, which was interrupted by COVID-19, and which will continue to connect people in this time of pandemic recovery.
