Library System of Lancaster County

Log Number: ARPML-250742-OMLS-22

The Library System of Lancaster County (LSLC), in Pennsylvania, will reinstate its program to provide children and home-based childcare providers with access to high-quality preschool curriculum materials. LSLC’s Be READy Rover van breaks down transportation and access barriers by providing library resources and services directly to homes. An early literacy outreach specialist will stock this bookmobile with literacy and educational materials and travel with the van to provide children’s lessons, storytimes, and craft activities at home-based childcare locations around the county. In the year ahead, LSLC plans to increase its number of visits back to pre-pandemic levels and develop strategies to increase its service capacity beyond the current reach. This work will respond to pandemic disruptions in the childcare provider sector and prioritize childhood development activities.
