Marianne Beck Memorial Library

Marianne Beck Memorial Library in Florida is a small rural library with a single staff person, and this project will increase its capacity to serve the Howey-in-the-Hills community in the wake of the pandemic. By hiring and training a part-time employee, the library director will be able to spend more time on program offerings, budget, and general library management. COVID-19 negatively impacted the library’s ability to offer needed programs and services when several volunteers left following the pandemic, and an additional staff person will help address that deficit. With additional capacity, the library can better carry out its commitment to supporting lifelong learning for community residents of all ages.
