Allentown Art Museum

Log Number: IC-21-11-0004-11

The Allentown Art Museum will use AHPG funds to conserve and repair two sets of stained-glass windows made by Frank Lloyd Wright and installed in a library designed by the famous architect and now located within the museum. The windows feature clear glass with small opaque white or sandblasted triangular panes and small rectangles of red glass set into a corner of each screen panel. The smaller glass panes will be stabilized with new putty, the glass and the brass hardware will be carefully cleaned, and the exterior frames of the windows will be repainted or refinished, pending an analysis to determine their original color. The Frank Lloyd Wright library plays an important part in the museum's school-based programs as the starting point for gallery explorations and art projects.
