Children's Museum of Wilmington

Log Number: IGSM-251724-OMS-22

The Children’s Museum of Wilmington will improve the visitor experience for Spanish speaking visitors and those with visual impairments by addressing language barriers and accessibility issues. Working with professional translators, the museum will create bilingual and Braille signage for exhibits and other museum spaces. The museum will also provide Spanish and Braille for flyers and marketing and informational materials. Community partners will evaluate the signage and materials for ease of reading and understanding. The project will support the museum’s ongoing work to embed DEAI (diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion) practices within all of its operations by fostering relationships with organizations that work with diverse groups and reaching new audiences that have previously felt excluded from its services.
