American Association for State and Local History

The American Association for State and Local History (AASLH) is partnering with the Institute for Learning Innovation, Conner Prairie Living History Museum, and Old Sturbridge Village to conduct research on the visitor experience at outdoor living history museums. The research project will use data collection, analysis, and reporting components to examine the public attraction to outdoor living history museums, the long- and short-term impacts of visitor experiences, and the most effective elements to maximize visitor learning. The AASLH and its partners plan to produce specific research results that will be applicable to all outdoor living history museums, history museums, and sites that use living history interpretation.
