Joeten-Kiyu Public Library, the designated State Library Administrative Agency for the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, will use funds to support the goals of their Five-Year Plan for FY 2013-2017, which reflect the purposes and priorities of the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA). In the Northern Marianas, specific goals address 1) providing up to date online public computer access to all cataloged library collections; 2) offering and providing e-books as an expanded digital collections resource to augment existing physical collections; 3) offering library staff opportunities for professional development in order to more effectively and efficiently serve current and future patrons; 4) offering comprehensive community digital literacy programs and classes at all public library branches; and 5) expanding and upgrading library computer technologies and services towards a more reliable, robust, and integrated network.
