Palau, Ministry of Education

Together with local library and academic partners, the Palau Ministry of Education will support improved technology for school libraries and encourage early literacy throughout the state. To address school library technology, the project will purchase access to additional digital resources and support an enhanced infrastructure for Internet connectivity in school libraries. It will also fund the license behind the Palau Union Catalog and ensure that school library print collections are added to it during the year. Through a summer reading camp, the project will encourage early literacy and love of reading in a setting where English is a second language and limited print materials in Palauan exist. It will also support library staff participation in regional conferences.
