The Indiana Historical Society will develop and present “You Are There,” a new series of experiences designed to engage visitors in an interactive exploration of Indiana history, culture, and identity. “You Are There” turns historical photographs into three-dimensional interactive environments brought to life by first person interpreters. Using original materials and replicas, visitors travel back in time into scenes incorporating objects, architectural details, finishes, lighting, colors, and textures that appear in the original photo. “You Are There” will reach students, parents, and visitors with a new type of museum experience. The innovative programming will feature 1968: Robert Kennedy Speaks; 1920: Busted! Prohibition Enforced; 1949: An Immigrant’s Story; 1955: Eli Lilly and Company; and 1910: The Miner’s Studio.
