Log Number: MA-11-15-0458-15

The Amelia Island Museum of History will complete the first phase in revising its current exhibit space by conducting a needs assessment through a series of focus groups, surveys, interviews, and current exhibit analysis to create a better visitor experience. The data gathered through this process will support a final interpretive plan for the re-imagination of the museum's exhibits. The museum serves an increasing number of visitors, residents, and schoolchildren and is in need of a retrofit and reorganization along the lines of diversity, technology, and museum culture. Focus groups will be used to test exhibit ideas and their relevancy to the museum's stakeholders The ultimate goal is to provide visitors a more personal, engaging experience, creating appreciation for the struggles and successes of the community's previous generations.
