Houston Zoo

Log Number: MA-246052-OMS-20

The Houston Zoo will establish a new exhibition on the Galápagos Islands that uses best practices in exhibition design and interpretation to educate visitors about ocean conservation and inspire them to take conservation action. The exhibition will feature sea lions, giant tortoises, sharks, rays, sea turtles, and other marine species to illustrate marine ecosystems, how human activities like plastic pollution create threats to wildlife, and what people can do to help. With this project, the zoo is piloting a thoughtful and inclusive approach to interpretive planning that will inform future exhibits and the zoo and aquarium field.
