Log Number: MA-249097-OMS-21

Arizona State Museum in partnership with The Poetry Center and Center for Digital Humanities will create a digital museum with exhibit locations in diverse areas of Tucson as well as accompanying activities for K-12 classrooms, families, and adults. The collaborative virtual outdoor museum will use geolocation technology and offer augmented reality encounters with curators, educators, poets, and community tradition bearers. The virtual museum and linked website will introduce users to community resources, history, and culture in a safe, socially distanced manner. Built around the theme of Community in the Borderlands, the project engages collaborators from the Dunbar Pavilion, Tucson Chinese Cultural Center, the Pascua Yaqui Tribe’s Department of Language and Culture, and Mission Garden. These program partners will be trained in new technologies and learn creative ways to engage various audiences using digital tools.
