Pikes Peak Library District (Regional History and Genealogy)

The Regional History and Genealogy division of the Pikes Peak Library will digitize its aerial photography series from the Stewart Brothers Commercial Photographers collection. Project staff will digitize and rehouse thousands of photographic prints and negatives from the collection that document the rapid growth of the Colorado Springs area between 1952 and 1995. The museum will hire a new senior library associate to assist the project; prioritize the digitization of collections frequently requested by historical and educational institutions; and make the digitized collections content available through its website. The project will result in greater community accessibility to historic records as well as an increased use of the collection for related exhibition and programming.
