Delaware Art Museum

Log Number: MA-251824-OMS-22

The Delaware Art Museum will digitize the John Sloan Manuscript Collection, which contains correspondence, diaries, scrapbooks, photographs, and ephemera pertaining to the exhibitions that Sloan participated in and organized. This collection of the 20th century American realist painter and illustrator is the museum’s most extensive artist archive and is frequently requested by scholars. The museum will hire a full-time digital project manager to work with existing staff members to digitize and catalog over 14,000 items in the Sloan Collection. This project will increase staff capacity to maintain this digital resource as well as build institutional capacity to undertake future digitization projects while making this collection more easily accessible to scholars and to the general public.
