The Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture will hire a full-time diversity, equity, access, and inclusion (DEAI) coordinator who will further the museum’s strategic DEAI goals. The DEAI coordinator will support the development and implementation of work plans for each department of the museum, train museum staff, assess each department’s progress, and report findings to the museum’s leadership and the community. The DEAI coordinator also will contribute to the museum’s upcoming strategic planning process. By strengthening DEAI efforts in each department of the museum, the project activities will result in a collaborative institutional culture that positions DEAI as a foundation for day-to-day museum operations and decision-making.
