Log Number: MH-249226-OMS-21

The Emmett Till Memorial Commission, together with The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis and the Till family, will develop a traveling exhibit, “Emmett Till’s Journey Home.” The exhibit will tell the story of 14-year-old Emmett Till’s racially motivated 1955 murder and the story of a community working to reconcile its role in the tragedy. The exhibit will travel on a 14-month tour to seven venues on a journey from the site of Till’s murder near Sumner, Mississippi, to his hometown of Chicago and then return to Mississippi to go on permanent display at the Emmett Till Interpretive Center. Supplementing the traveling exhibit, will be a curriculum unit of study, teacher professional development programs, exhibit website, and virtual content including 3D exhibit tours and videos.
