B.B. King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center

The B.B. King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center will improve its collections management by purchasing new software, training staff on its use, and hiring three interns to work with staff to catalog and input collections information into the new database. The collection includes 4,000 pieces of archival material consisting of handwritten song lyrics, travel logs, personal contact books, and many different types of printed and audio memorabilia. The project will result in existing staff members trained in collections management; provide internships for three college students; and enhance the museum’s ability to catalog, protect, and make accessible the archives of B.B. King to the public.
