Goldsboro Westside Historical Museum

The Goldsboro Westside Historical Museum will implement a series of professional development activities to support an existing leadership succession plan and build the capacity of the museum’s staff and board. Staff training will focus on increasing effective delivery of museum services, while governance training will focus on the oversight of nonprofit museums. Leadership succession work will help meld existing institutional knowledge with current best practices in museum management by supporting two full-time staff positions and executive leadership training. The project will facilitate the transfer of leadership from the museum’s founding director to the new executive director while also helping to build the museum’s capacity and sustainability by investing in skill-building for museum personnel.
