Betty Brinn Children's Museum

Purpose: Reaching Families and Children Betty Brinn children's Museum will further develop its Family Focus program created to address the needs of disadvantaged families with young children. Parents and caregivers are provided with free memberships and transportation subsidies, information about the importance of early learning, and guidance from education staff at the museum to promote healthy child development. The impact of the program on parenting skills and knowledge is assessed using pre- and post program survey tools. Family Focus improves not only parenting skills, but self-confidence, and strengthens the parent/child relationship.
