Kaw Nation

Log Number: MN-03-10-0043-10

The Kaw Nation of Oklahoma will begin a project to enhance the Kanza Museum’s ability to maintain and preserve its exhibits and archives and fulfill its mission to share Kaw history through the creation of a Kaw-centric historical timeline. The Kanza Museum Board will work with outside consultants to assess museum collections and develop a long-range plan that will direct future museum operations, including the maintenance and preservation of exhibits and archives. The museum director will work with the Kanza Museum board and use input from tribal members to create a timeline display that will provide a narrative of Kaw history from the 1500s to the present day. This display will enhance exhibits in the museum by providing context for artifacts on display.
