Big Pine Paiute Tribe

The Big Pine Indian Education Center provides a welcoming and safe atmosphere to meet the community’s literacy needs. The center will update its collection to better serve patrons of all ages, with a special emphasis on large print titles for elders and read-along books for children. Literacy programming will include afterschool sessions and family book clubs encouraging parents to read with their children. The library will purchase two computers and make other updates to the library furnishings and space. Staff will receive additional training to better assist the community, including attendance at the annual conference of the Association of Tribal Archives, Libraries, and Museums.
