The San Jose State University (SJSU) Library and partners, the San Jose Public Library and the National Hispanic University, will recruit fifteen people of color into SJSU’s graduate program of library and information science, provide full scholarships and living stipends, train them to meet the needs of diverse communities, and prepare them to serve as leaders throughout their library careers. The students will build relationships with experienced librarian-mentors, receive hands-on learning experiences in urban libraries, attend leadership development seminars and professional conferences, and participate in other activities that prepare them to become future library leaders.
