The University of North Texas and Texas Woman's University will partner to develop and design a pre-service library preparation masters-level program that develops competencies in data literacy leadership, addressing a need for data use services in school and public libraries. This planning grant will include a convening of key stakeholders, identification of core data literacy competencies, the development of a curriculum to ensure development of these competencies, and a pilot training program. A report of summit proceedings and evaluation of the pilot program will provide recommendations for effective training in data literacy leadership within library professional preparation programs.
