Feleti Barstow Public Library created the Polynesian Photo Archives, a digital repository of visual images of historic Samoan culture and traditions. The project, funded in part by IMLS, includes historically and culturally significant materials to the Samoan Islands and Polynesia, dating from the 1840s to the present. In 2012, the Keith Dahl Collections was inherited by the Feleti Barstow Public Library. The collection consists of nearly 800,000 photos of local events, sports, and portraits taken between 1979 and 2012 in American Samoa. This project supports the continued efforts to process and digitize the photo collection and collect metadata from local students, scholars, historians, and elders.
