IMLS Supports the Federal Directive to Empower HBCUs.
Historically Black Colleges and Universities preserve American history while preparing students to lead us into the future. IMLS is proud to support HBCU museums and libraries in this critical work.
Some of the ways we do that is by:
-
Offering funding opportunities, especially Museum Grants for African American History and Culture, for which all HBCU archival and museum collections are eligible.
-
Participating in the White House’s Arts, History, Humanities and Culture Cluster to support HBCUs as they apply for grants, explore career paths in these fields for their students.
