Tuesday, March 28th from 4-5pm Eastern

The Institute for Museum and Library Services and the White House are hosting a listening session focused on the experiences of professionals in libraries and museums to inform the upcoming national strategy to counter antisemitism. As the statement indicates, this strategy is part of a broad effort to counter antisemitism, Islamophobia, and related forms of bias and discrimination within the United States.

Discussion Points

The listening session will be held under Chatham House Rules and will include brief introductions and a discussion centered on the goals below.  We are hoping to foster a productive solutions and practice-focused conversation addressing the following questions:

  • Please describe some ways in which you or your organization are seeing antisemitism in the United States today. Be as specific as possible, with particular attention to your workforce and communities.
  • What barriers do you face in addressing antisemitism as it manifests nationally, in your local communities and/or in your workforce?
  • Are there promising practices you’ve used to combat antisemitism or related forms of hate, bias and discrimination?
  • What are the relationships that have been important for supporting your organization’s activities to combat antisemitism and/or other related forms of hate, bias, and discrimination? What relationships would be helpful to build momentum?

The listening session will take place over Zoom on Tuesday, March 28th.
