Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art & Culture

Log Number: ALHC-260790-OMS-26

The Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art and Culture at Riverside Art Museum will build institutional capacity to present six unique exhibitions and related programming to further expand audience engagement. Project activities include one permanent collection exhibition, two temporary exhibitions, and three community gallery exhibits. Museum project staff will develop, promote and provide public programming ranging from artist panels and workshops to pre-school story time, museum tours and hands-on art-making activities. Interpretive content uplifting the work and stories of artists and curators will be created and shared on social media and made accessible via a free museum guide mobile app. As a result of this project, the museum will invest in its staff while audiences will gain a deeper understanding and create personal connections with the themes, artwork, and artistic expressions represented in the exhibitions and public programs.
