Arizona Historical Society (Sanguinetti House Museum and Gardens)

Log Number: ARPML-250548-OMLS-22

The Arizona Historical Society will reopen its Sanguinetti House Museum and Gardens in Yuma and provide educational onsite programming for K–12 students. The historical home brings to life the development of Yuma from 1890 to 1950 through the stories of Italian immigrant E. F. Sanguinetti, his Mexican American wife Lilah, and their children. To support the reopening of the site, the society will hire two audience engagement specialists. These staff positions are required to reopen and have been vacant due to revenue losses incurred during the COVID-19 pandemic. One position will support daily site operations. The other will support the creation of educational materials, including lesson plans and museum tour scripts for school field trips.
