Downers Grove Public Library

The Downers Grove Public Library will strengthen its capacity to respond to the digital needs of the community quickly, effectively, efficiently, and responsibly by providing take-home laptop kits to borrowers and increasing its WiFi signal strength to reach beyond the physical building (e.g., parking lot, garden walk area, benches along public sidewalks, etc.). Library users who checkout laptop kits or use the extended WiFi outside the building will also have access to the library’s remote printing service, which includes up to 30 pages of free black and white pages per day, and pick up their printouts during normal library business hours. This project will provide better service to community members who do not have swift and ready access to the Internet or technology to help them meet their vocational, educational, or recreational goals and objectives.
