Cayton Children's Museum

Log Number: ARPML-250813-OMLS-22

The Cayton Children’s Museum will create a program to help close the “play divide” for low-income children, which has been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. The museum will build staff capacity by conducting staff-wide diversity, equity, and inclusion trainings; implementing a new free admission structure; and strengthening its community programming. This museum also will provide 100 field trips for kindergarten to 3rd-grade students, with a focus on Title 1 schools, and will build community-focused partnerships, networks, and alliances with local organizations and schools in underserved communities. The program aims to deliver opportunities for purposeful play and high-quality arts experiences to thousands of children across Los Angeles, both on-site at the museum and, when transportation is a barrier to access, in local communities.
