Cape Cod Museum of Art

The Cape Cod Museum of Art in Massachusetts will hire a consulting firm to complete a major digitization initiative for its permanent collection. This work will make the permanent collection accessible worldwide to researchers, the public, and public programming; improve internal management; and preserve the collection by reducing physical handling of objects. With no visitors allowed in the museum after the COVID-19 pandemic closed its doors and reduced its paid staff to one person, providing an online experience for members, museum supporters, and the socially distancing public became a priority. Thanks to this digitization effort, the museum will be able to share its collection inside the museum through interactive media displays, outside of the museum through educational programs, and worldwide in a searchable, interactive online format.
