Vizcaya Museum and Gardens

The Vizcaya Museum and Gardens will increase its capacity to deliver programs for schoolchildren from kindergarten to 12th grade. As a direct result of the pandemic, the museum lost 71 percent of its team of learning program facilitators due to layoffs, who delivered the museum’s educational programs. The museum will update its training curriculum for learning program facilitators and onboard a new cohort of facilitators to deliver school programming. In addition, the museum will pilot three new field trip programs on visual arts, literacy, and design and engineering, with a focus on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math). This initiative will allow the museum to begin to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic and restore services to pre-pandemic levels.
