MASS MoCA will expand its free online hub for educational and multidisciplinary virtual programming, which leverages the museum's newly created digital resources to foster audience engagement, learning, and conversation within broader social networks. This program was a direct pivot from the museum's annual admission-free community day—which was cancelled because of COVID-19 pandemic capacity restrictions—to an online experience that could reach an even wider audience. This programming eliminates financial and geographic barriers to experiencing the museum's educational offerings. In addition to this work, the museum will create an archive of the past two decades of work created at the museum. The museum will collect and analyze audience engagement data and project evaluation, tracking progress through periodic evaluations informed by data from the online hub, surveys, and conversations with museum staff and participants.
