Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art

Log Number: ARPML-251017-OMLS-22

The Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art will provide interactive art-based experiences for seniors with memory loss and cognitive disorders and their caregivers. In partnership with community organizations across the Denver metro-area, such as libraries and assisted living care communities, the museum will bring this free program to multiple sites to engage individuals and audiences who do not have access to visiting a museum. Through intellectual stimulation, social interaction, community engagement, and positive mood shifts, the SPARK! program can alleviate the behavioral and psychological symptoms disproportionately exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic and social isolation among individuals with memory loss and their caregivers. The museum will engage three new art educators and train them to work with audiences in safe, respectful, and welcoming programs.
